There is little to no visible vegetation on the surface, and water clarity is about 50 percent due to frequent heavy rains over the past month. Feeder creeks with depths of 4-8 feet with banks of flooded timber on the Upper Pearl are holding fish, some with good size. Swimming jigs with the head blades will get decent bites on a medium retrieve. Bumping the jigs over fallen timber or submerged structure is working well right now. Spinnerbaits are getting a few bites, but nothing consistent. Overcast days produce the most bites right now, and sticking to a hot area seems to work best. Not much running up the river at this point. A few stops and that takes up most of our day.

The rains have consistently hit every week in November, bringing in some cooler (sometimes COLD) temperatures. These Wx fronts are turning some fish on in the river North of MS 43 as they are killing the shad right now. Despite getting soaked throughout the day, it was worth the time to be out on the water. Spinnerbaits and chatter baits are getting good bites along shallow bars and feeder creeks around dwindling pad areas. If you find some ditches coming out of those pad zones, key on them. Bass are hanging tight looking for shad and the bites come fast and furious, but not all day. I had best luck sight fishing areas, looking for active schools of baitfish.
