The bass are moving shallow and hanging onto vegetation as the cold weather is killing the weeds. They are very active and are starting to feed aggressively.

This outing was for Sunday, September 7th. Only had about 3 hours out on the lake and was trying some new spots. Weather was sunny, cool to start about 45 and very little wind. Ended up with a high in the mid to upper 60's but the sun was very strong. Mostly tried up shallow, caught a couple dock fish, and a couple fish around some pads. Good little morning finished up with a couple beers and lunch at Back Channel Brewing!

Fishing lay downs and undercut banks. Tossing a jackhammer around structure to find the fish. Once you got the first bite. Slowing down and flipping a jig in and around the laydowns and nearby stumps produced the best. Lots of 2.5 and 3lbers in the 4 to 6 ft of water in the back of the laydowns

This was one of those days when I question the hundreds and hundreds of lure, rods and reel options in the boat. I threw everything and the kitchen sink and had to grind for a few bites. Then, just for fun, I tie on a Wacky Rig Senko in the trusty watermelon/red flake pattern...and proceed to crush it. I landed the trifecta catching smallies, large mouth and spots. Just needed to luck into a striper and I would have got the Quad.... And don't worry Omnia...I'll still be buying plenty more rods, reels and lures from you!

I was pre-fishing the lake for a tournament next weekend. I got bass in water from 1’ to 15’. Most things I threw caught fish. The biggest came on a Craw Tube off the deep weedline. Also got fish off pads, reeds, docks, wood, steep banks, and on flats. It is a fun lake with a good population of largemouth.
