So this is a new one from Galapagos, this is the 3.2-inchacoustic and I think this is probably one of the mostslept on lure categories in bass fishing. The guys who knowhate me right now for talking about this but if you haven't been throwingyou know gravity baits you know you're missing out on a significant amount ofbites and a really good time. So I've been one of the sleepers on thesefeeds and I'm kind of glad you are talking about this nowbecause now you're you're gonna like eat me here here. It's exciting and Ithink you know for those of you are familiar with like a coverscat, AK punch, Yamatonuki, what's the missileon there's it's it's come around and it's beengrowing in popularity over the years in Japan. This category is the most popular and it isthe longest okay so it's it's the category thathas taken the longest to phase out to the point where they're still doing ittoday and so the cover scat I would say is a very goodstandard bait heavy it's gonna backslide a little bitthe AK punch from ESA is gonna be heavier yetin a fish very jig like and this I would say is going to be a morehovery better darting version of that so you're still going to get that weightso you can throw this on casting tackle butit's amazing how heavy these are. They're full assault and that's kind of what'sbeen popular in Japan is instead of you know putting a bigger jig head onthey're like well we've noticed that when we do this the bait falls all weirdor backslides and we're able to get a complete different actionand then like when we move the bait the bait's actually moving morenaturally in the water too. I mean you don't see a bait fishmove a half of an ounce you know and do those sorts of things right back intothe ground yeah gravity is not the same underwater as it isyou know for us on land where we're a half ounce jig all the timeyeah but most of the bait fish they have isn't sowhat you'll notice with the occurstic is it's got a flat side and a keel sideright yeah so what that's designed to do is you've got a lot of different waysto rig this bait just like the gray series we were talking about beingversatile this bait's also going to give you a lot of different ways to catchbass depending on the conditions that you are faced with sothe first primal common way you're going to want to fish this bait isweightless okay weightless this is going to cast really nice it's going to beover a half of an ounce but the biggest thingthat I've noticed fishing the bait weightless is it performs better with thesix-hot hook than it does a five-hot hook even for such a short bait even for such ashort bait it's thick so the reason being is so acover gap for example is kind of got that boldest endif you notice this has a tapered end like that so the more you're able tokeel the bait out what you're going to find you throw this bait out it's actuallygoing to oh yeah yeah that thing's going to be moving like this right you gotthat flat side up I noticed yep when you're doing it weightless that's how youwant it now I'm going to get into flat side down for a different technique in asecond here but that's going to allow that bait to shimmy if you did flat sidedown that thing's going to want a spiral okay and not going to want a shimmydown but what that six-hot does is is it keels the bait out to have a shimmyhorizontal fall versus a five-hot you're going to get a slightlynose down fall can also rig it backwards and have it backslideokay so you can rig it forwards or backwards but I guess for that shimmying falland dart dart dart that six-hot hook is something I would recommendanother way he's rigging it so you'll notice there's holes in the baitthere's actually two pilot holes in the nose of the bait okay so what that'sdesigned to do is rig it for an even more aggressive dartso the big thing is these baits are getting bit on the fallthe dead stick and the dart so this is probably this is what's going to allowthat flat side to catch ultimately so now that flat sideis catching water so basically you got that hook coming out of that holeright there so you tie that on and you can actually take a piece of a weed guardand just pop it through right there so it can't slide downoh that's neat now that it's yep so now that it's secured rightso what it's going to do is give you a more wideerratic and aggressive dart and it's also not going to want to rise up as muchso and then also keeping a more down posture sofive-hot with that dart setting six-hot with that standard Texas settingso this is going to be more of a stable dart escape dart right standardsix-hot this can be more erratic more widemore glidey and not wanting to rise and escape as much that wayso you've got two ways to fish this weightless where you're going to getwide darts and then different fall rates right and you can also rig thisyou know tail front that in the back and it'll get a backslide feature soessentially you've got a very versatile offering in thiswho knew you and this one watch out it's such a little tiny wormyou look at it in the bait and you're like yeah it's a piece of plasticyou pull it out and sure as heck there's a heck a lot more to itand then the cold months you've seen margazona crack a tubeyou've seen I love crack a tube so this was a cool dealthat I learned and this is something kato had me do for at least 20 casts beforewe leave a spot half ounce half ouncedarker style jighead this is a Fujiwara mongon headit's going to be coming out later this spring at the classicbut this is like the the best darker headthe world is ever seen that's when you're rigging that flat sidedown and I curved it a little bit more than he recommends but you want ita touch curved that darker head it's got that flatbottom like that so you rig that flat side downyou throw it out things gonna spiral on the fall once it hits the bottomyou got some slack in your line you go pop pop I think you'll move four feeteach way like a jig and wrap so add a little super glue you're able to catch abunch of bass with that but I think you know just some creative stufffrom Galapagos but I think the biggest thing is I've seen the two-inchwork wonders on smallmouth very pressure onesso the two-inch takes a one-out hook really nicely three in three same waysI like rigging like that you didn't hear it from me but yeah this would be thestandard way I'd recommend rigging it the biggest thing is it's going to hoverlonger and have more uh hover ability and then the dart is justway better than you're going to see on another bait so this is also going to workreally well I think as a follow-up scoping tool or when those smallmouth don'tmatter they're non-committal on a standard program you throw this right overthem no matter how deep your fishing and once it gets to them if they haven'teaten it on the fall yet and you I mean I remember on St. Croix a coupleyears back I thought I was going to recommend a minnow better than anythingbut I actually ended up catching them the best on a two and a half inchthis style of bait doing exactly that over suspended fish soI think the the world of this category and gravity baitsthere's a lot to be explored and what I do know is if you're fishing behind somebodyor pressured fish these are magic bullets this is an intergalactic bait I got tobe honest with you so this is the occur stick from Galapagos they offer it in atwo-inch size and now new for 2026 the new 3.2got some sweet colors you've got like I like the matte finish on that greenpumpkin I think that's really nice you gotcinnamon blue or raw shrimp and oh yeah you get some dirty water orI don't know where you like to throw that but it and also imitating a minnowso you got some more minnow style colors because the dirtiness of ityeah is really where the magic sets when you're looking at gravity baits youwant one with a unique fall or something that's going to triggerthose fish on the fall something that's not going to do a lot on a dead stickjust like an edrig right and then something that's going to dart and escape ortrigger a bite after the fact so so this will be coming out in 2027this video right will it I hope so we just gave a lot of waythanks guys
