Megabass P5 Destroyer and this one's called the Dark Sleeper. One of the most popular consumables we sell here at Omnia and consumables by meeting baits is the Dark Sleeper, which is a bait by Megabass, like a pre-rigged soft body swimbait. This is the rod they designed for fishing that bait. So this would shine at being an offshore bottom contact or down there in the water column anyway. Finesse swim bait kind of rod. This is a 7'1" fast action, medium heavy. So pretty versatile rod if you look at the length and power and action. So I'm sure you could get away with doing a lot of different stuff with it, but it was designed specifically for that soft body swimbait that is such a popular lure out there in the Dark Sleeper. So let's go bend this thing and see what it's like.

We are here with the Megabass P5 Destroyer Dark Sleeper 7'1" medium-heavy, fast action. So pretty versatile power and action in a rod. Let me get me lined up on my marks here. Well it definitely gets into the backbone quickly, but I would view the action itself as a little bit slower than a typical fast action from Megabass I should say. Let me let out a little extra line here. So this thing is actually using quite a bit of the blank for the power of the rod. The tip is soft on this thing. As you can see here I'm just giving a little bit of pressure there and I'm getting that. You're definitely seeing that the action, the taper, the blank is faster. But when you get into the backbone of this rod it is much more gradual than I was expecting. So that makes for especially in modern times these days better landing percentages with these stiffer lines that we're fishing. Now that we're fishing more fluorocarbons which have a little less stretch than monofilament has. I don't even know that to be super true nowadays, but it's a great way to get into the trades for sure and some of the stiffer fluorocarbons. These kind of actions in the rods, these tapers of the rods are aiding us in our fish landing ability. So I'm not against it by any means and it certainly does have a faster than slower action to it as you see. If I just give it any pressure at all the rod wants to load up. So pretty cool rod here from Megabass, pretty versatile rod. I would say so far out of all the rods that I've bent in the P5 line, this would be the one to me all around rod. [Music]
