Welcome back to another episode of What's Hot at Omnia. Today we're taking a quick look at five bass bids that every angler should have. There's obviously so many different types of lures out there, but when it comes to just get into the sport or maybe you're carrying a box around that you just kind of travel with. We wanted to pick out five bids that you absolutely need to throw. So the first bit that we're going to start off with is probably the number one pick and it's just a swim jig. The nice thing about a swim jig is you can do so many different things with a swim jig. I would argue that this is probably one of the most popular styles of bass lures out there. You can obviously cover water with this thing, but if you really absolutely need to you can fish this pretty slow. You can fish it suspended in the water column and you can fish it on the bottom. There's just so many different things that you can do with the swim jig. And obviously it's weedless too, so you can fish this out of cover and in cover. So just a very versatile bait. Every angler should have one pretty much every bass angler does have one. But again, for those who are just getting into it, this is something that you're probably going to want to pick up. The next bait is similar in vain to the swim jig, but this is more designated to covering water and it's a bladed jig. I picked out the jackhammer here because this is obviously probably our most popular chatter bait that we carry here at Omnia. But again, like the swim jig, you can cover a ton of water with this thing, works in cold water, it works in warm water. There's a ton of different modifications you can make to these, whether it's fishing different trailers, smaller bladed jigs, bigger bladed jigs. It's just one of those baits that works year round. It's a very easy beginner bait and it covers water fast. So if you're fast angler, this is going to work very, very well. On the next bait we wanted to put on here was a crankbait. I picked out the DT10 just because I think that a 10 foot depth running crankbait is probably your most versatile that's going to work in a variety of different situations. You're not going to be stuck in too deep of water and you're also not going to be stuck in shallow water too. It's kind of like a nice medium. Rappla DT is obviously a very large staple bait in the bass world. There's a ton of other cranks that are out there, but I think that, again, just kind of being broad on baits that you might need. Rappla is a proven company with a proven track record in the fishing industry, so we grabbed the DT10 here. Next up, through the vision 110 on here, jerkbaits obviously more catered towards cold water, but these work in warm water too. They're not utilized as much because I guess there are better options out there for warm water, but again, we're going on five baits. This is one of those baits that's going to cover so many different applications for you. I threw the 110 on here because it is a little bit more of a pricey jerkbait, but it's for good reason. Castability is super nice with this, if you're fishing high winds, this is going to cast very well. If you only get one set up, whether it's a spinning or a casting set up, this will work on both. Through the vision 110 on there, obviously a lot of people know about these baits, but they are popular for reason. I'm kind of cheating on the last one here because it is technically two separate packages here, but I picked an underspin and a paddle tail. So an underspin jig is obviously a pretty simple presentation. Again, kind of like the swim jig and chatterbait, this can cover a ton of water. Again, if you absolutely need to, you can slow it down, but I think this is one of those baits that isn't utilized quite as often. And with forward facing cylinder, it's obviously a pretty dynamite choice. For trailers on there, we got the Kitek paddle tails. Again, one of our more popular options for swim baits, and they're popular for reason. They come in a variety of different sizes and colors, so whether you're fishing larger style baits, smaller style baits, there will be something there that is for you. So those are our five picks for five bass lures that any anglers should have, but we obviously know there are a ton of different options out there. So if you guys have your own opinions, please be sure to let us know your top five picks for lures a bass angler should have. And we will see you next week with a brand new batch of new products at Omnia.
