- You heard of IG Labo before?- You know, I'm just getting into all this good stuff, but yes, I have heard of them.- So it's a company out in Japan, and I would say hand-poured, soft plastics have kind of,like, gone away.Like, there's not a lot of companies specializingin hand-pork.Like, Robo Worms, even pretty private equityed up.And I think the important thing to notewith IG Labo is it's made in Japan. It's a husband and wife. The wife is the tournament angler, and the husband is the master bait maker. Her dreams, the one-day fish-bass master in the US.But their hand-pork and baits and nobody'sbefore has combined realism with hand-pork action. And I think that's really the special thing to notewith the IG Labo products. They're unique products, they're innovative products, and they're pushing categories and boundaries further. And I think you're gonna start to see as trends continue. Those fish wanting either something more realisticor a unique action or something along those lines. And I think, I don't know,if I've ever seen any baits, you know, like that one.- No, never.Camera would never do this thing justice. But the detail and realism on that is amazing.- Absolutely amazing.- Usually you get some weird chemical smellson that big, or like it's gonna be stiff as a board.I mean, the liveliness of it in the water, whether it's on a drop shot rig, that way or that way, or on a jighead, or what have you.Truly special stuff. And we'll get into kind of each of the baits here. But if you haven't heard of IG Labo, this hand-porked small business out of Japan, that cares more about quality than quantity.Like they'd rather put out baits, 50 baits that are right, than, you know, 500 that are wrong. And I think that's something that is kind of lostin the American tackle world. So if you truly want something special, something that's going to trigger bites, and, you know, take your time further on the water,YG Labo's definitely one. You'll wanna check out.So getting into some specific baits from YG Labo,Chase, I think you really like that one. That's the wish-flat reel, okay?So this bait's actually been around a little bit in Japan. There's been a couple of baits that have come out in Americathat actually, I think, stole their ideas from this company. We won't mention any names, but I think the important thing to noteis the realness of it.When fish are keyed in on a small thread-pin shed, they get really keyed in on what they're eating. If it's a small mouth, protecting a bed,if it's, would you drop shot it?That's what I'm gonna make you drop shot it.I would drop shot this in a heartbeat. So rumor has it, there was some large mouth tournaments, actually one, there was some money one on Lake Minotonka, actually drop-shotting that bait for large mouth. And I think that's super interesting, because I think a lot of guys will typically pick up a wormwhen they're drop-shotting.Yeah, I would agree with that.I think at least up here, I think, probably nine times out of 10 people are goingfor a six-inch roller run.And it does actually pair good on a jighead. You can rig it flat side down or horizontal side down. It'll actually give you a spiraling aspect to the fall. There's really no limits on how you could work the baitand utilize the bait, Niko Rig.Nen Rig is another one.I think guys are overlooking the factthat you don't need to necessarily put a worm on a Nen Rig.If you put that on a Nen Rig flat,it's gonna spiral on the fall. And it's gonna Nen Rig like a realistic perch down on the bottom.Yup.And I think there's really not limitsto what you can do with those baits.Another thing, and they are so soft.So soft. And again, like every other realistic blade baitit smells like absolute chemicals and paint. And like this has a fish scent to it.It smells like your regular stuff. You're gonna pull out a regular bag,but then you look at it in the detail. It's just, I can't get my eyes off it.No, it's pure beauty. And I mean, you can add a little orange to it,a little chartreuse to add some magnetism to it.But the guys who like these baits do not talk about the bait. There's a reason for that. There's a lot of ways you can fish it.Obviously, nose hook on a drop shot or a rig like that. You're able to bottom-stroll that bait,do a lot of different things. The witch flat reel is a finesse fisherman's green, that's for dang sure.So you pick this up at omniaffishing.com.It's the witch flat reel. The Wage Labo. The other one that is new from those guys is the Witch Rizu. And I think this is one that's truly a special baitif we're talking about strolling baits. You know, this minnow is going to perform really nice, not only on a jighead, but also an EWG weightless. It's got a little bit of different action. You're going to notice it's flat on the sidesand then a little bit boxy on top.And they've actually incorporated a spotright in the top of the minnow therefor you to place that jighead. And I'd be happy to get into why we prefer that jigheadplace there. The big thing you're going to find with this baitis it's going to have a more steady roll.So you're not going to find it upside down on itself. When you shake it, it's going to be a very steady roll. And then obviously, that realism is somethingthat's super special. The thing I noticed is the witch flat reel, not going to get a ton of fish per bait. But this one here, because they're curing those plasticsin a certain way, this bait you're actuallyable to get a ton of fish out of one bait.I think on average, I'll get 4 to 10 fish off one bait, whichwhen you're talking about that soft realistic nature,is really unheard of.Indeed, Japanese plastics obviously don't.They're not cheap. So when you can get something and it can last you a whole day, that's something that's truly, truly special. No, these feel like they're tough, but at the same time, like you were saying, I mean, super soft. And again, just the detail on the paint on there, the eyes.I got to be honest, when I first fished it,I was like, man, I think I forecast and out, right?Like it wasn't happening. And then I had another day where I wasthrowing my normal rotation, and it was not happening. And I said, it's a pretty good time to mess with this thing again. And it literally was the best thing I threw all day.And then I've talked to a few buddies down in Alabamawho said the same thing. It was like, I kind of almost wrote the thing off.And then when I went out to lay lake the next time, when four of my baits that I usually catch them on weren't working,I pulled this out and it was like a light bulb.So something different about the action in it isn't?I would assume it's the action and the realness. And it seems to work best when nothing else works. And there definitely seems to be something to that.In cold water, I know that realism makes a huge difference. And we'll talk about that on the swim bait. But I think as the trends keep growing,as these fish get more pressure on forward facing sonar, action and realism are going to matter more. And there's not a company that's focusing on it like YG Labo.So you may be seeing a super fish roller. It's kind of got that boxy nature, much like a super fish roller.Very durable like it.But I think the biggest difference you're going to haveis that realistic waggle and finish on the bait. That's really going to separate itself from the pack, so.But the biggest thing is you're going to want to rig that hookmore on the top side of the bait. And you don't just do that for rolling.A lot of people say, well, the Mino doesn't roll if you don't do that. It's more so about the hover ability of the bait.So you're adding resistance there. So yeah, I can make a bait roll, but the less drag in the water, the more forward that bait's going to want to move.So just getting the bait to roll is one thing. But getting the bait to roll and not move as far forwardis another thing. And I think also the effort in your rod movementsdoesn't have to be as aggressive. And the other thing is, a lot of times, there's not even a shake. And when you rig it like this, you're allowing the baitto actually have a swimming mechanism to it.So yeah, it's something I recommend. It'll take a three-odd all the way up to a five-odd hookand just some awesome stuff. And that's one of the new colors coming out at the classic. That's the new one. That's a sneaky walkie-talkie color. And so he spent six months working on this color. He said it's the hardest project he's ever had.And you can see there's that pearlescent purple. Now all of a sudden, no purple, no purple.Yeah, so really, I guess he can just pop it in a moldand pull it out and say, walkie-talkie.I mean, he's been working on that color for a while, and that'll be coming out at the classic. And some of the colors we have right now, this would be IU Perch, which Perch has sold out, I think, right now, and then Motugo. And then at the classic, they'll be releasing that colorand then Gizzard Shed.Nice.And then I'm going to just let it out, because it's exciting.Seven and eight inch.Oh, now we're talking eight inch two, huh?Yep, yep.Well, I talked to him and I said, you know, those really not anybody playing in that world. And I think that that's really the sizethat would do the best in is a seven and eight, even though the five's great. So yeah, lots of cool stuff coming from YG Labo. It's a small company. So they're really able to make changes, put out new stuff. And I think you're going to see a lot of cool stuffcoming down the pipe from those guys. But the witch Rizu has definitely become a staplein my arsenal, if I'm in a jighead anyway. But I don't want to undersell the EWG Fluke aspect to it.I mean, if you EWG, this thing, it's going to have a shimmy falland a very unique, aggressive, erratic, darting action. So I could see it being really good on like the riveror small mouth as well.Yeah, absolutely.Yeah, absolutely.Yeah, sweet baits. So sweet baits. And I think this is one I've really learned to appreciate. It took me a little longer because of its application. This is the witch flat, er, there. This is the witch shad reel from YG Labo. This is a four inch swim bait. And first one to note, the realisticness of it.But the durability is mind blowing.OK.Like very durable. So one of my favorite swim baits for cold waterhas always been a spark shed. And I think this is pretty much replaced that for methis past season. It's a little narrower bait, so it's going to come through grassor cover a little bit better.Still got a flat top like a spark shed.Yep, but not having too aggressive of an actionwhen the water's cold. And then when it's cold, we're incorporating a lot of pauses. And we're actually working that bait very slow.So those fish get a really good look at your bait.Yeah.When we're fishing in those cold months, and that's where a realistic swim bait to memakes all the difference. So that keeled tail, just like on a spark shed,is going to suppress kind of the action of the bait. But it's going to have a very good kick at any speed. So it's going to be a very natural swim bait. It's funny.I gave it-- had a walleye guy by some. And he just tore him up on this shinier coloron the river this past spring. So I think if you're looking for a good cold waterswim bait, it's going to last y'all day on a jig head. And that's going to trigger bitesand something the other guys ain't throwing. This is definitely something I'd be looking at.You know, as far as a perch pattern goes, it's amazing. It's just as good as these rezoos.Yep.So swim bait and cold water, it's going to be about the bestat that. And then I think they've made this a lot more swim bullon a EWG with overall shape of it.You're going to see a more pointed nose.So if you are fishing this on an EWG or something like thator a weighted swim bait hook and grass,it's going to come through that grass really nice that way, even having a guard for the gap on your bait.So that grass isn't catching on the gap of your hook, either. So super well thought out bait. And I mean, the best cold water swim baitup their own in a long, long time.Yeah, no, I can see all these would be awesome. And like you're saying, the body feels very durable. When you get down to that tail, it's got--I mean, it's going to take nothing to get that kicking.Yeah, and I mean, if you wanted to make the most baits possible, you would pour them up, pop them out of the mold, put them in a bag, right? But I think where these guys are getting their ability, they're curing it to a certain temperaturebefore and after it's pulled out of the mold. And that's able to let that plastic be less easy to tear, but yet have that hand poured touch. And that's really like the secret sauce with YG Labois their curing time.So you're getting that hand poured action, but combined with his realism. And then that curing time is what'sgoing to add the durability, screen-ness, magic. So yeah, that's a couple of their products. They've got some awesome other productsthat we'll probably get into at some other point. But if you haven't heard of YG Labo yet, this is some of the finest Japanese bam-bam coming outof Japan.Hand poured, get some.I mean, fishing.com, you guys got these, right? We bet we do.These are beautiful. For now.For now.[MUSIC PLAYING]
