Smallmouth were on rocky points and flats with some coontail mixed in. I couldn't really narrow down a specific bait that worked best, i caught fish on the 3 staples though - small swimbait, dropshot and a ned. Swimbait was usually first bait through and got more and bigger bites. Largemouth were plentiful but lacked size for me. Chatterbaits up shallow in the cabbage, and flip around a craw tube there as well and get lots of action.

Everywhere on Baby Lk looks bassy. I found the outside edges of the lily pads adjacent to deeper water most productive. Casting chatterbaits parallel to the edges (5 feet out) letting the CB sink a bit before starting your retrieve was most productive. On this date (9/02) there were few bass in the pads but did catch a few on TX rigged purple worm.

Panfish / BluegillTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonFallStructureLily PadsFishing near the lily pads/weed line at the public launch on the lake. 10 foot fluoro leader to braid. 14in leader from the hook to the weight. Fished exposed hook threaded through the bait. Dead sticking. Caught 25+ rock bass, about 10 adult hand sized sunfish and a large crappie.
