What a day in Oklahoma. A strong cold front went through the night before and fired off huge thunderstorms. Temps dropped drastically. It was in the low 50 degree range with 18mph winds, bluebird skies, and rising barometric pressure around 31 when we got on the water around 9:30am. We tried several presentations but finally landed on the ZMan Jack Hammer Chatterbait in black/blue color. The bites were few and far between. I personally only caught three fish but one was in the 3lb range you can see in the pic above. Letting the bait drop then reeling a few turns then stopping and letting it drop again (repeat) was the key presentation for me. The fish were not aggressively taking the bait but I could feel the chatter stop and the rod load up. I was a bit surprised to catch any with the conditions. (*Note this is a private lake)
