Target the Marina dock slips. Crappies were suspended in 30ft of water anywhere from 5-20ft. With the Jigging spoon, rip it hard and let it free fall until it picks up all the slack. Only allow 1-3 seconds for it to sit still, you will get bit either on the fall or the pause. Tightlines!

Definite prespawn bite at Boyd Lake. Water is 8-10' low relative to typical summer levels. First cast of the day along the rock, caught a rainbow trout on the new Storm Deep Wiggle Wart. Caught one more trout in the same stretch. Continued fishing the rock. Dad caught a decent smallie on the same lure. I caught a small largemouth on a jerkbait. Found a stretch where the rock came out into deeper water and started getting bit multiple times on the deep wiggle wart. Casting it right on the bank and slow cranking it out to about 6' was the ticket. All-in-all, had a low 80" limit between the two of us with the largest being a 17" smallie.
