I was fishing the SlayNation MN kayak tounament and pulled out this 4 pound bass on a deep hump. Hump meaning I was fishing the tippy top where you can see the drop off on the charts and on livescope! I could see this fish on the scope at around 12 ft where it meets the bottom of the shelf ( shelf meaning a rapid drop off, depth ranges are in 1ft increments like a literal shelf you have at home ). This big girl came up and striked and missed. Focusing back on this large mouth I threw numerous different baits at her. Wether it be drop shot with a yum craw, or a KBL dirty dan ned rig! Nothing could get her to bite. I backed off a little bit to give the bass a different angle/approach when I decided to pick up the chatterbait! Just after the 2nd cast with the chatter bait and working it like a jig ( let it drop but give it more aggressive hops. Let the bait touch the bottom, Reel in so your rod til hits the water and then give it a hard yank so the rod is completely 180 degrees ). Once I did that BAM ol' girl hit on the drop. I can say confidently that if you replicate this anywhere you will succeed!
