TechniqueGrass JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFishing deep grass lines and clumps in 10-15’ produced good numbers and decent size. Bites came both on the fall and during hops. Make sure to slow down and pick apart each section of grass you come across as fish seemed to get grouped up as the sun got higher.

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsExcellent day: Cool start to day until low 80s into the afternoon. ~5mph wind with low gusts. Fish was not too active in the early morning, but picked up an hour or two after sunrise. Water clarity was usually 1' or less in most places, but only opened up to 3' in other areas so I went with more white and chartreuse colors. I was getting absolutely no bites on the bladed jigs (chatter baits) until I switched over to slow rolling it. After that, the bites were on! Great back-to-back action. Downsizing to the Mini Max also seemed to have been helpful. There were a good number of areas with depth, so I swapped over to the the dropshot later and had a good time finding several schools within the 15' - 20' transitions. Many of them had a ton of fight! Some of the best fighting bass I've fished this year. Good length and sizes (well-fed).

TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsWhen lakes give you lily pads, what do you do? You go frogging, of course! Following up on my previous visit, I came back with some fun frog gear to give it a go today. It paid off with exciting Michael Bay-esque explosions and blowups! Lost a few due to being impatient on the hook set, but it was still an outstanding day. Tons of nooks and crannies filled with lily pads and surface weeds here. In fact, I'd probably recommend a nice pitching/flipping rig as well for even more options. Enjoy the summer topwater!

TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsFish seem to be on normal summer time patterns, with a majority of fish being caught in cover whether it is lily pads, sparse vegetation or docks. Caught numerous fish as with my big fish going for 3lb 8oz.
