TechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Small/Medium)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationSpent the week camping and fishing on the Chippewa Flowage. Tough fishing in the heat. Most success covering a lot of water on grassy shorelines throwing shallow for the reaction bite. Had one nice 16' 2.2lb largie doing so. Chucking the flashy swimmer with a paddletail through the grass was very effective in covering water. Extremely weedless. Also had success fishing smallies on grasslines and submerged wood with jerkbaits. My advice if you want to fish largies: take the boat ride to Crane Lake and you won't be disappointed. Much clearer and much less tannic water up there. Great vegetation and laydowns.

Before the minnows we used the same jigs with an artificial grub on it. Caught about 40 crappie over 2 days

TechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Small/Medium)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThe Keitech baits add the extra attraction needed for a tremendous bite. Added as a tail to a spinner bait the fish loved it! Didn't even matter if the paddle tail was bit off - the pearlessence does the trick!
