      The fluke and sakamata Shad proved effective around shallow brush piles in 6-10ft. My partner belly weighted his with a light owner twist lock while I worked mine weightless. We ran into some schooling fish where this worked as well- the versatility of the soft jerkbait is tough to beat. As the sun pushed higher (blue bird), the fish seemed to move tighter to cover and a touch deeper- ‘worming’ the fluke through the brush produced for us from 11-1 (mid-day). Most fish came from main river points and channel swing flats holding brush.
