Made a long run on to Erie this weekend for the derby. Bite was very tough but the ones we caught were the right size; catching them in about 16-24 ft of water.

Finding Current Breaks with Smallmouth Bass is sometimes a challenge on the Detroit River. However, using crankbaits I was able to locate schools of Smallmouth Bass and proceed to drop the hammer on them with the Mini Swammer in 309. I recommend using a round drop shot weight for less hang ups and Trokar #2 drop shot hook.
