Finally! I had myself a day with a jerkbait. I was of course finesse fishing when I saw some birds feeding on a bait ball about 100 feet off shore in about 40 feet do water. So I tied on Rapala Shadow Rap and followed those birds around in the open water, and it was literally a strike on every 3rd or 4th cast... including a nice 2 pounder on my first cast.
