TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationDespite 25 mph winds, 94° heat, and whitecaps on the lake, the fish were still willing to bite! We had a board full of northerns, a few bass, and some crappie to show for it. We tried to target some walleyes, but for whatever reason, they just didn’t want to cooperate today—which is perfectly fine, because the rest of the action more than made up for it. We tested out all the new casting gear, and it performed flawlessly. The clients were very happy with both the equipment and the overall experience. We focused on transition areas, gravel bottoms, and some clay patches, and also spent some time working the weeds. Every spot gave us something different to think about, making it a truly interesting and dynamic day on the water. The group did a fantastic job out there, and I’m already looking forward to guiding them again. Hopefully, the lake continues to fish as well as it did today!

TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksThe weather was interesting to say the least, it delayed our departure time but 4 hours and another front was supposed to come through. His determination payed off and we made the right deduction to fish as most people would have just canceled.

TechniqueBuzzbaitsSeasonSummerStructureOpen Water/BasinThis father and son and another son had a great day on Fox. It was overcasty and there were bugs swimming on the surface so I recommend buzzbaits and they grinded and caught many fish. They had a great day.

TechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Small/Medium)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThese guys caught some huge largemouth in the weeds. If it was a tournament their best 5 went 19lbs and they managed this in less then two hours. Once the sun came out the bite slowed way down. They did a great job and had a great trip.

TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFished the Midwest Kayak Bass Club tournament on Fox Lake. Spent the majority of the day throwing the shallow hybrid hunter in less than 5 feet of water over the submerged grass. A Senko also got bites by tossing around patches of Lilly pads

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationTargeted largemouth and had good success in the morning ripping bladed jigs, crank baits, and swim jigs through holes in the grass in 2-4 feet of water. Fish fed aggressively early in the morning between 5-7am, and the bite continued through the afternoon, but the amount of action definitely tapered off. My biggest 5 fish went 86” and my biggest fish weighed in at 3.64 lbs.

TechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonSummerStructurePointsThis was yet another hot day and the fish were scattered so these clients were chucking spinnerbaits to points and lay downs and we just covered water until they found some nice sized largies. His face says it all, to hate being outfished by your girlfriend.
