January 21st My buddy Kyle and I came out to fish this lake for crappie. My second time fishing this lake and his first. We fished all day sunrise to sunset. We were marking fish all day long no longer than 5 mins apart all day. We were fishing with tip ups baited with medium shiners which we did caught 2 decent size crappie on. We were also jigging using small tungsten jigs tipped with soft plastics ir wax worms. We also caught fish on medium sized tungsten jigs tipped with a live fathead minnow. Kyle also caught one on a rip n rap style bait during mid day. All and all awesome day on the water. You can watch our whole day of fishing on youtube at Jake_stem_fishing

Ice Season is a great way to target crappie here. The crappie roam around in the deeper part of the lake usually a foot or two above the bottom of the lake. Using a small teardrop jig (frostbite brand) tipped with wax worms is a great bait for crappie. Hole hop around the deeper part of the lake until you run into a school of crappie.
