Fished a club tournament and had a great day on the Lower Potomac! Started fishing a rising tide around hard cover, including wood and rocks, but the bites were few. I was, however, to catch a nice 3lb, 5oz largemouth on a black and blue jig as high tide approached, but I decided to run the tides and find more aggressive bass once the tide turned and began falling. My strategy paid off, and I found willing biters in submerged hydrilla and milfoil. I caught many largemouth over the next few hours on a Jack Hammer in Bhite Delight and a 4" DieZel Minnow trailer. My largest largemouth was a 3lb, 14oz fish that slammed the Jack Hammer like he hadn't eaten in days. My best 5 fish weighed a respectable 14lbs, 6oz.
