Soft and hard jerk baits on shallow flats adjacent to deep-breaks produce consistently for both numbers and size. I rig a Zoom Fluke and super fluke on a VMC HD Wide Gap hook (3/0 or 4/0) on a Dobyn's Champion XP 683 SF spinning rod with a Daiwa Fuego 3000. My hard jerk baits vary in brands but I primarily throw MegaBass Vision 110s this time of year on a Dobyn's Sierra 683C casting rod with Tatula SV TW 103. Varied retrieves work depending on mood of the fish and conditions.

working deeper outside weed lines where weeds to rock met. Find the rock to weeds and you can find the fish. Best depths were anywhere from 10ft down to 20ft. Found some really good healthy coontail on off shore humps next to rock seemed to produce the best fish.
