They were pushing around large schools of perch. Fishing a 3.8" sungill keitech around the active fish worked really well. Fish were in 10' of water in very large schools. They could be spotted and followed with forward facing sonar.

Went looking for walleyes after seeing Brian’s report and ended up doing well on Smallmouth bass. They tended to be in 12 to14 feet of water around points and the entrance to bays. Used a slip bobber and kept the minnow 1 to 2 ft off the bottom. On average they were 2.5 to 3 lbs.

There was good bite window from 7-10am then the bite got tough. Fish were related to bigger boulders with a sharp drop or bigger boulders with sand pockets

Pre spawn smallmouth were hanging around the flats in pretty shallow water. Like 5 feet and less. They were triggered by tossing light weight paddle tail swimbaits with a steady retrieve. Sun gil was the hot color in the keitech 3.8 fat impact.

Water temps varied from 42-47 depending on location and time of day. Using live sonar fish could be seen following other baits but not willing to strike. blades baits ruled the day with many fish over 3.5lbs with Bagley flat sided cranks coming in second.

42-50 Water temps, Targeting fish in staging areas with with rock, sand and veg mix. vision 110 and 110+1. The colder water requires longer pauses as the sun warms the water the pauses can speed up. Natural colors are essential as it is very clear lake this time of the year.
