April 2 2023 was the first tournament of the year at Norton. Ice out was three weeks prior. A could front came through prior to the tournament. there was a morning bite on jerk baits. Fishing was slow. Only a couple of fish were caught and weighed in for 320 hours of fishing. Fish appeared to be scattered in the main lake as none were present in the back of coves. Warmer water should help if the wind would only settle a little

With water Temps in the high 40s to low 50s and wind blowing 15 to 20mph focus on the back of creek channels with spinner baits or chatter baits. This will keep you out of the wind plus produce fish. Ned rigs also came into play on the damn once the wind died down.

The water is warming quickly and the bass are becoming more active. Fish the main lake points off the end of drainages and creeks. Try throwing a lipless crankbait with a yo-yo pattern to get the reaction. As the day warms move back in to the creek and focus shallow with a chatterbait.
