TechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonFallStructureLedgesYou can't not catch fish on this lake in the fall. This is a favorite time of the year because you can wack em topwatter shallow at ledges and at points. I like the 6th Sense speed wake because there is nothing like the action get with that bait. reel and pause for effect and be ready. my second go to is the Depps Buzzjet if you can get ahold of one. If your having trouble locating them, drag a Live target baitball hybrid spinner bait. Later in the day, if the fishing is tough, a texas rigged Ol Monster with a Gambler rattle weight will do the trick.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesNever peg this. Drop this on a bass and 9 time out of 10 they eat it on the fall. If they don’t give it a wiggle and then they will. Less than 8 feet I use 1/8oz and in 8-12 feet I use a 1/4oz. I typically don’t fish it any deeper than 12 feet. It’s a great bait for targeting shallower fish in the late summer. I always have one tied on no matter what lake I’m fishing.

TechniqueHard Topwater (Walking)SeasonSummerStructureOpen Water/BasinLate summer early fall is the best time to walk the dog in my opinion. At this time of year they seem to like the fastest retrieve I can manage. A Duckett rod is great for walking the dog because of how balanced and light they are. For speed walking I like a sexy dawg or sexy dawg jr. Some days they like it a little slower in that case I choose a bigger bait to really trigger an aggressive response.
