If you have been following my reports on this lake, today was similar to previous trips except it was a little more windy. Full sun to start my fishing around 9am. By 11ish a front moved in and brought clouds. This fired them up. My most success was pitching a Texas rigged Crush City Janitor worm at standing timber with my Denali Lithium Pro MH worm & jig rod.. Just let it fall to the bottom. Twitched a few times and brought it back if no bite. The bite was subtle. Caught about 15 fish with this method all between 0-2lbs. Then my last fish at 12:15pm was a chunk. 5.2lbs and gave me a great fight. I was able to catch a few smaller fish on a KVD chartreuse square bill thrown near some riprap at the west end of the lake. Nothing of note but any catch is fun in my book. This has been my best fishing year at Kill Creek. Been going there for 3-4 years. I am finally feeling confident I can put numbers in the kayak and occasionally catch a bigger one. I am guessing there is a 7-8 pounder in there somewhere.
