Largemouth Bass
TechniqueHard Topwater (Popping)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationDead calm waters when we launched. Started the day hitting the water with a Shimano Flashboost Popper and a Baby PopX. Did pretty well with both. Once the sun came out and the water started to get warmer the top water bite dried up. Not much vegetation or cover in the lake, but where we found vegetation we found bass. They were sitting in 5-7' of water most of the time we were there (outside of the morning top water bite). Once it got windy, we were only hitting fish on the drop shot and then eventually we found some under docks on the wacky rig. Had a lot of them following a 6" Cull Shad, but couldn't get any to commit. No real significant catches, but we would have ended the day with a full bag.

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructureOpen Water/BasinMix of largemouth and smallmouth. All caught in less than10 feet of water. Need rig worked well also. Drop shot was not working? Light colors were the hot color.

TechniqueMedium Diving Crankbaits (7'-12')SeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationI'll keep this one brief. Morning tournament, beautiful day. Started off catching some cranking in 10-12' and every time we found grass we found bass. Basically keeping crank baits in the 8-12' range. Early on, co-angler hooked up on a bass and while I tried to quickly retrieve my bait to grab the net, I hooked up on one as well. Started retrieving pretty much as fast as I could crank at that point and really started to get some numbers. We ended up catching 40+ for the day just hitting the grass hard. Caught a really nice Walleye as well. The real winner was the 3xd in Chartreus Perch, but it's not available from the drop down.
