Largemouth Bass
TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsWith water temps between 58-64, the lake provided a great spinnerbait and chatterbait bite on main lake points near rock and early growing grass. The backs of lake arms with new grass growing also put out good fish. Our best 5 fish weighed a little over 18lbs that day. All caught power fishing main lake points and backs of creek arms.

TechniqueNed RigsSeasonFallStructureDocksfishing was tough. bites were few and far between and the weather and wind made it hard to present baits. fish were around docks and grass. rocks also played a part. the key was fishing very slowly and working with the wind.

TechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Small/Medium)SeasonFallStructureDocksFished a club tournament on Lake Anna and caught largemouth on main lake docks with water depths between 10 and 15 feet on the outer edge. I also caught fish on docks within coves and creeks where the docks were within 100 to 150 feet of the main lake. Continuing warm weather has kept most fish from transitioning to fall locations and patterns, which is why main lake cover and structure played a prominent part in most anglers, including my own, fishing last Saturday. I caught fish by skipping Keitech Swing Impact Swimbaits (bluegill flash) rigged on 1/8oz Gamakatsu Horizon Head Jigs under docks. I also caught bass on the edge of docks on lightly weighted, Texas rigged Zoom Trick worms (black) on Mustad Alpha Point Alpha-Grip Finesse Hooks (1/0).
