TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureMatted GrassBass have started staging in any cover they can find for the post-spawn season. Success on this trip was found flipping the outer Kissimmee grass areas with the Missile Baits D-Bomb and flipping into stands of cattail reeds and pencil reeds on the south side of the lake near the areas of deeper water.

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationEarly February water temp around 70 degrees. Partly cloudy very windy day. Flipping bite was very tough, so I switched to a chatterbait over the top of hydrilla clumps near pads and reed and caught several bass. St. Croix 7'2" Heavy Moderate Mojo Bass Glass rod is perfect for the technique.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureReedsI won the Major League Fishing Toyota Series event on the Harris Chain this past week. I focused on reeds that had hard bottom since the fish were beginning to move up to spawn. My main bait was a 5" Yamamoto Senko that I flipped around the reeds and worked VERY SLOW, picking apart every little piece of cover. I also covered water casting a Z-Man Jackhammer around the reeds. I ended the event with 71-13 after three days and a $100,000 payday!
