Always swap out the hooks and split rings on the rebels or you will get your feelings hurt eventually America! Fished protected rip rap banks where I saw blue gill active at daylight. Bite was great until about 0930. This bite will persist throughout the summer. And get especially good around the fool moon when the blue gill spawn. Be stealthy and make long casts paralleling the banks. Also a great technique for you losers from the bank.
