Fished the afternoon from 4pm-8pm. It was sunny, warm, and a 15mph North wind. Found 12”-16” bass around submerged vegetation, mostly in 6’-8’. I never really found a hot color today, but watermelon red and green pumpkin worked ok. I did dip the tails in the spike it dye, just to have something different. The best fish of the day was actually a bowfin, which I don’t mind catching as long as I have a gripper to hang onto them and remove the hook safely.

Fished Lake Eva this afternoon from 5pm-8pm. I got home from work and saw my Omnia order was on the porch so I was excited to try out the Strike King Cut’r worms. I fished the 6” in watermelon red and caught quite a few on the deeper edge of the weedline. The water temps are starting to come up now that it’s gotten hot. The water was in the mid-80’s. When the worm fishing got slow I caught a couple on the Chatterbait. I did have a few blow up on a frog just before sunset but they were smaller fish and didn’t get hooked up.

Fished Lake Eva this afternoon, the boat ramp is closed but the park is still open so I could slide my kayak in. I did pretty well hopping a shaky head worm around the submerged vegetation. I did swap out for a t-rig for a little while and it worked too. I used the same Jackall Flick Shake worm on both rigs. My longest fish was quite skinny, but I caught about a dozen that all looked much more well fed.
