Sunrise fishing on submerged hydrilla. First 2 hours spent at the mouth of a pocket with matted grass on the bank and hydrilla at about 6 foot in depth. Big ladies hanging in the grass pounding hybrid hunters coming across the top of the grass. Late morning in the same pocket we found shad balls in 20 foot of water and they went from top to bottom. C rigs with a super fluke or a whale swim bait with a flashy swim hook through and around the shad.

Water was on the rise and our hard points we had been fishing were empty. Found them shallow in grass. Small bites were on zoom magnum trick worm in plum and plum apple. Once we got a few bites we switched to hybrid hunters and the big girls came out to play. We worked each pocket in this manner with the same results in 3 out of 5 grass pockets we worked.
