Harris is in a little bit of a funk this time of year. We are right in the middle of the transition from deep to shallow. When this happens the bass get really spread out. They aren’t schooled up on the hard spots as well as they were and they aren’t up in the shallow stuff great. Focusing on mid depth areas in front of the Kissimmee grass has been the best. Anywhere where you have harder bottom in 8-10 feet of water has been the most productive, but you have to cover a lot of water. Because you have to hit so many areas the crankbait has been the best choice. The Rapala DT-10 does a great job of getting down there and getting bit. I upgrade the hooks on the DT to size 4 Owner ST-36. Those hooks are extremely sharp which is important this time of year because you’ll have some that don’t commit fully. I throw the DT-10 on a Dobyns Champion 805CB paired with a Daiwa Zillion 6:1 ratio. Seaguar InvizX 12 lb has been the most reliable line for me. It’s strong enough for if you hang a big one, but still think enough to get the bait down. The bites are going to be unpredictable so make sure you stay on your toes. You’re not going to get a ton of bites, but you have a chance to catch a true giant this time of year. Dicky D
