Good day chasing flags, south end of the lake. Smelt for bait worked best for me. Tried live minnows but smelt was the best bait. Did use a jiggin rod while waiting for fish to bite. Used a golden colored spoon, caught a few that way.

Lake Jessie is pretty tame this time of the year. Not much activity on the lake and many people aren't spending much time fishing it. The public access on the south side provides decent fishing assuming the wind isn't blowing hard. Northerns are still active and are more than willing to bite a live minnow under a bobber. Also do not be afraid to float a dead smelt under a bobber, they work great too.
