Honed in on a crappie school near a spawning channel area. Casted through the channel and retrieved out. This one was staging on the channel entrance most likely protecting her fry or getting ready to spawn.

Outing was for May 16, 2026. Weather was gorgeous with a strong west wind. High around 80 and clear skies. Water temps from 62 to 66. Panfish and bass were everywhere up shallow, saw lots of bass and panfish on nests. Caught a couple nice ones on a jig and also a small frog. Then also caught a bunch of midsized to small fish. Very nice day!
