Flipping shallow (less than 5 feet) vegetation with Texas rigged creature baits, tubes, and jigs yields several bites in the fall as water temps dip into the low 60s and high 50s. Colder the water temp the slower the bait needs to move to illicit strikes.

Lots of fish up shallow chasing bluegills and minnows on flats or banks with matted vegetation. Key to finding fish was finding the bait first. When I found areas with bait I slowed down almost to a stopping point and kept my eye out for fish that were actively feeding. Fish are moving so quickly right now that if you wait for a little bit and fan cast you might have fish coming to you instead of chasing and spooking some of them. Burning swim jigs over mats then slow reeling them in pockets drove them crazy. Buzz bait produced lots of fish too, just had to find lanes in grass to get a clean retrieve.
