The shallow bite is dead within an hour of sunrise. Still catching catfish every outing in the shallow grass, this one was one of m biggest so far.

Water temp was very hot between 84-85 degrees. Caught a few good ones dragging a curly tail worm.

Tried a chatterbait and spinnerbait along pad edges/weed lines, frog in the pads, and a jig. Couldn't coax a bite until i changed to a beetle spin but swapped the grub for a 2.5 inch gulp minnow in watermelon pearl color. Finally hooked up with a 1-2 lb largemouth near a tree laydown in about 10' of water. Only catch of the day.

Rig up a dark colored senko Texas rigged weightless. Cast the bait along the edge of the lily pads and give it time to fall. Most times it will be eaten within the first couple seconds. Also aim for small holes or pockets in the lily pads as well. The bass will sit under the lily pads in the heat of summer especially on hot windless days.

Was cranking the rock drop off. Went from 1 foot on the bank to 20 feet.

Dragging baits deep have been the most productivity with deeper diving crankbaits occasionally being effective. Focus on structure closer to deep water.

Found pockets in the lily's and pitch the wrom in them.

I caught this fat largemouth casting a Picasso chatterbait around the edges of lily pads. The water cooled down significantly due to the recent heavy rain but the color of the water didn’t change much from normal. Lots of active baitfish both visible on the surface and side imaging.
