We hunted on the outside edges of weed beds between 16 and 14 feet, ticking the tops of our weeds with our chatterbaits, mini maxes, an underspin swimbait, and the occasional drop shot. Water clarity was incredible, and it was a top 5 day out on LSC!

The air temps started out cool at about 60 degrees and the water temps were warmer at around 72. The high for the day was expected to be only around 80, which is mild here in MI for August. We could see some smallmouth activity hitting topwater in around 11FOW and found a big school of perch they were chasing. Casing the Keitech Fat Swing Impact 3.8” in the smallmouth magic color on a 1/4oz swimbait jighead got them to bite. They were hitting it on the fall.
