Summary

What you need to know about fishing Lake Sinclair

Lake Sinclair sits just south of Oconee Lake to the east of Atlanta. Lake Sinclair is a 15,000-acre reservoir in Georgia with a max depth of over 80 feet and 417 miles of shoreline. The lake is primarily fed by the Oconee River and was created by constructing the Sinclair Dam in 1953. Sinclair offers great fishing opportunities for all anglers. The most targeted species on Lake Sinclair is largemouth or striped bass, catfish and crappie. The best lures for catching largemouth include spinnerbaits, jigs with trailers like worms and lizards, crankbaits, and buzz-baits. Try fishing steep ledges and deep structure in the summer and docs and shallow weedlines in the spring and late fall for largemouth. Commonly caught with trolling shallow or deep diving crank baits, large striped bass can be reeled up once schools are found using sonar.
