TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsWe had our first tournament of the year at Lake Sugema. The bite was hot for me from the start until about 11:30, and then it died off. I was getting them to bite off of the jetty points and secondary windblown points. The zman jack hammer and razor shadz combo was HOT all morning. The water was clear to about 8-12 feet

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationA cold front came in and brought snow in the morning but the bite was still pretty good. The wind was strong so I tried to stay out of it in the creek arms. Fishing in the old lily pad stems produced most of the bites. Throwing a chatterbait through them worked well but don't be afraid to throw a buzzbait as well. Even with the cool water and freezing air temps, a Cavitron Buzzbait produce a lot of bites and gave me my largest bass. The rocky jetties also produced a lot of bass but smaller in size. Throw a crankbait on all sides, lipless or with a lip both worked. In the afternoon the bite stopped in the shallow areas and they were out in the deeper water.

TechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonSummerStructureLaydownsThe air temps during the day were in the mid to upper 90's and the water temps were 83 to 84. Going far into some arms the temp got up to 88. Sun up is the best chance to get some nice size bass on a buzzbait around laydowns. Once the sun is up the bite ends pretty quick. Was able to find a few throwing a black/blue chatterbait and a white swim jig around trees close to shore. Throwing a DT10 around a rocky island or hump will produce a few good bites. The frog bite wasn't there but flipping into the pads will get some bites. Try throwing a jig around trees throughout the day and you should be able to catch a few big bass.
