Fish were biting really well today. Caught several larger fish. Started off catching them shallow around wood with s spinnerbait. Then found a crazy good offshore bite in 8-12 foot. They were hanging on the deep weed edge and some were off off the edge a bit on the break lines. Wind was blowing parallel to the ledge. Caught all of those fish on a DT 10 Caribbean Shad color. This is my favorite crankbait color that works really well in mid to deep depths.

The fish are transitioning back to the shallows with the colder nights and shorter days. You can catch numbers of fish using bottom-oriented baits (texas-rigged worms and jigs) throughout the day. However, the larger fish on this lake seem to key on larger forage and big baits will produce bites during the prime feeding windows. Do not be scared to work these baits shallow and slow. Vary the retrieve and how you work the bait to figure out what it will take to trigger the bigger fish to bite.
