I did something new I haven't tried but had the set up to do. I tried the wacky rig and did very well dropping it in matted holes. Depth ranged from 3' to 8' of water. I usually work at deeper levels during the summer, I was surprised how well the wacky rig did. I'm sold!

This lake can literally change overnight. The homeowners had the vast majority of the weeds removed which made fishing this lake very different. There's lots of structure around the shore, and that's where to look on sunny, hot summer days. The water was clear this spring and now has an algae bloom, so use darker and/or brighter colors. I had a lot of success with the XZone 6" stick in summer craw rigged wacky. I worked it horizontal from the shore into 2-3' of water.
