The large mouth were biting in and around the 12'-14' mark above the submerged vegetation. The real trick was finding the sandy areas amongst the vegetation and slowly dragging the Ned Bait along and popping it into and through the vegetation

The bass were shallow, between 1-5'. I found them under tree overhangs, under docks, and within 10' of shore. There's a thick blanket of emerging vegetation at 3-9' water. Once you get inside that it opens up a bit, making the wacky approach easier. The water is very clear.
