We worked offshore weed lines in 10-20’. We had to keep moving because not all the weed lines held fish. Most bites were on the drop.

Ripping a football jig in pockets of submerged vegetation in 4 to 5 feet of water produced some decent bites. Also, fishing any outside weed edge in 12 to 14 feet of water pitching a craw/bandito bug triggered strikes as well.

Was out on Waconia on 07/21, water temps were low 80s. Caught bass off weedlines in 12-16ft. I would drag the jig through the weeds and along the weed edge and got some good bites doing that. Had to fish slower in some scenarios to get them to bite. Water is clear, so using more natural colors right now is the way to go.

Found fish relating to bluegill schools off weedlines/humps. If you could see fish surfacing and popping on top of the water, that's where you needed to get your bait. They would eat the bait as it would fall through the school. 13-16 FOW

Found Largemouth Bass in 10-15 feet of water on rock piles dragging a 4” perch swammer rigged on a swing head paired with a flipping hook. For areas with thicker weeds the same 4” swammer on a 1/2 oz. Stealth Feider money craw jig.
