Went around Meydenbaur Bay with my inflatable kayak. The low wind in the bay made fishing on the kayak easy. Near the park where I launched it is very shallow with few fish. On the northern side I found sandy flats with some rocks and caught some smallmouth on the maxscent flatworm. Too bad they are out of stock everywhere. The tungsten really helped for me to feel the bottom, whether it was sand or rocks. In Meydenbaur bay, the best locations are the docks on the north side. The water gets VERY deep (50') not far from shore while the docks have shallow water, indicating a drop off. I fished along the drop off and got instant bites with the flatworm.

Went back to meydenbaur today, had a lot of bites on the zman trd ned rig. Just let it sit, then hopped it occasionally. Every cast I got a bite, but it was mostly small smallmouths. The fish are starting to come shallower with the little guys leading the pack. I got a couple 2lbers which was great fun on the eyecon ml. I highly recommend the st. croix eyecon for this style of fishing because it is so comfortable to deadstick with the large foregrip.
