Fished the MN Bass Nation Team Trail event. Big cold front and strong winds changed things up a bit for tournament day. During practice water temps were over 70 but had dropped quite a bit on Sunday. Still the largemouth were active in the rice and pencil reeds in the northern bays. Bays like Steamboat, Sucker, Boy were producing fish on frogs and texas rigged crawfish baits. Fish a texas rigged craw or bass jig on heavy tackle to rip those fish out of the thick stuff. For the rice, fish the edges of the rice beds with a frog or a swim bait right along the edges and around any pockets (be careful not to put your boat in the rice beds). We managed a 4.80lb largemouth out of an area with mixed rice and lilly pads on a top water.
