    Early morning (4:00-8:00) cast a jointed Rapala up into the rocky flats, let it sit and then using a burn / burn / pause cadence reel the Rapala in. Cast at a 45° angle to the shore, and take note of where you get bit. If gosh hit it a couple of times at a certain depth, switch up and cast parallel to the shore at that depth. You’ll get. Some good smallies for sure!

    Long Lake is a great fishery year round. Right now the smallmouth are feeding in the early morning and late evening. During the heat of the day they will go deeper or cling to wood. Use a Duo Realis in the early morning hours over flats in 3’-10’ of water. Use a jerk, jerk pause cadence. You’ll catch some great fish.
