      Just got back from an amazing two-day trip with three kids out on Lower and Upper Post. The fish were short-hitting, but the kids still managed to land a good variety—smallmouth bass, northern pike, and largemouth bass. We had a shot at some walleye too, but unfortunately, we lost those. All in all, it was a great outing. The fish have finally settled into a normal summer pattern, so locating them wasn't too difficult. The largemouth were holding tight in the weeds, the smallmouth were on the rocks, and the northerns were a bit more scattered—especially after the rain came through. We had the best luck targeting pike with spinnerbaits. The kids did an awesome job. Couldn’t be prouder of how they handled everything out there. Definitely a trip to remember!
