Working the deep edges off the reefs and sand bars during low light periods yielded the best results. Start deep and work shallower onto the reefs as night falls. Good mixture of eating size and larger fish.

I spent the last week at a cabin on the Whitefish chain. Had some tough days with changing weather but got the fish patterned by the end of the week. Had 2 techniques that ended up working best. During the daytime and early evening tossing slip bobbers with leeches at the deep weed edges (14-18’) was the ticket. Finding points and saddles worked best. Fish seemed to prefer the pink color. Low light in late evening and early morning pulling a lindy rig/crawler was working best. Look for flats in 18-20’ of water here. Work slow and make several passes, mark your fish and come back over because they were finicky. Make sure to practice selective harvest. There is a good mixture of eating size fish and 25+” fish in the lake.
