TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFished this morning from the kayak for about 5 hours. Caught 4 largemouth bass between 12-14in. Sunny day with some wind, water is extremely clear here. I was struggling fishing the standing timber, getting snagged and no bites. I ended up switching to fishing submerged weeds on the north side and caught all my bass there. I targeted 10-15ft depth and dropoffs in the weeds.

TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFishing was a grind on Manasquan reservoir this weekend. Fish were tough to come by. Did manage to boat a couple fishing submerged vegetation. One drop shotting a wacky rigged yum dinger and another texas rigging an 11 inch Keitech mad wag long worm. Both off shore in 5-10 ft of water.

TechniqueLipless CrankbaitsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThe day started out slow. Couldn't get on a pattern. Bladed jigs and spinnerbaits were ineffective. Cranking the points and ledges wasn't working either. Flipping and dropshotting yielded nothing as well. Finally as I was making my way along outside edge of some standing timber chucking a strike king lipless crank, I managed my first fish. A 2 lb large mouth. I made my way to another spot that I normally don't spend alot of time on but the level was down significantly so i thought maybe the fish might be pushed out a little deeper and it paid off. I managed 4 more large mouths. 3 on consecutive casts. They must've just been bunched up there feeding on baitfish and I got lucky to be there at the right time. After that spot dried up, i kept moving along using the same approach and managed another hard fighting 3 pounder on the same lure. That gave me a total of six on the day. My trusty lews lfs baitcaster and strike king lipless red eye shad really came through for me. Hopefully as the weather cools , the fall bite will be a blast.

TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureStanding TimberIt was a typical post spawn day of fishing when the wacky rigged senko was can't miss. Some were caught flipping and dropshotting also but the wacky rigged Berkley maxscent general was the dominant presentation. Nothing real big was caught as it mostly 1-2 pounders but there were a few solid ones pushing 3 pounds caught and of course a couple of even bigger ones that were unfortunately lost during battle but hey, that's fishing. All in all it was a non stop day of fun.
