Outing was for June 15th, 2025, Father's Day. Fished from about 6:30am to noon. Weather was calm winds, started out very overcast and slowly cleared up. Fishing started out slow and then gound the pattern due to bass keying in on small bluegill. Bluegill were up shallow and being snacked on. Key was a small frog worked slow up shallow. They were scarfing it! Just slurping itnoff the surface! Overall a great outing. Maybe 12 to 15 frog fish and a few other random fish.

Spent the morning on Medicine. Had the most success fishing rocky points near weeds. Found some Bass on deeper midlake structure as well.

Tried small swimbaits on the outside weed edge/drop but couldn't catch anything. Switched to a topwater popper bait (0 fish), then a prop bait and caught one 2lb bass and one 3lb pike (had several other strikes that missed the bait). Slow steady retrieve seemed to be the most effective. Halfway through the morning I switched to a weightless wacky rig and found some sparse lilly pads and docks that produced 8-10 bass. Most of the fish had ripped lips, this is a high pressured lake and was busy with fishing/recreational boaters. This outing convinced me that BaitFuel is a quality product - the bites where I used BaitFuel were much more obvious/aggressive (and quicker too). I highly recommended it - marinade some of your favorite plastics and then hang on.

But if you can look past that, this lake has some serious potential. It fishes a lot like a smaller tonka. Not quiet as much water obviously but similar attributes. Plenty of offshore structure as well as places to flip and frog. I spend 4 hours out there this morning primarily frogging. The deeper pads with access to deeper water seem to be the ticket, but really, there is so many areas to frog that depending on the weather it gives you a lot of options. I would try and fish things most people overlook. Way back into the pads. Irregularities along with the storyline that might make some space for a fish to live, things like that. All in all, it can be a great lake and one an angler can fish many different ways on.

During the hot months of the summer the larger bass will move out to the deeper rock piles and humps located on various spots on Medicine. When you locate these spots tie on a deep diving crankbait and work the area well. This should yield some quality fish. You can also try dragging a football jig over the same spot to add a few more bites.

Started off by throwing frogs at Lilly pads which produced nothing. Then went to grasses near shore and was using a Texas rigged craw. Produced one small bass. Finally ended the day by throwing the Storm 360GT Searchbait around Lilly’s and grasses. That seemed to be the ticket for bass.

Located schools of baitfish being chased on points. Tossed jackhammer in periphery/center of schools yielded bass.
