TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureLily PadsOuting was for June 15th, 2025, Father's Day. Fished from about 6:30am to noon. Weather was calm winds, started out very overcast and slowly cleared up. Fishing started out slow and then gound the pattern due to bass keying in on small bluegill. Bluegill were up shallow and being snacked on. Key was a small frog worked slow up shallow. They were scarfing it! Just slurping itnoff the surface! Overall a great outing. Maybe 12 to 15 frog fish and a few other random fish.

TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFishing report from 7/7 - Fished from sunrise to about 8:30AM, lake was still as glass. Targeted submerged weed line on points at about 10-13ft depth. Started throwing a Texas rigged senko with some success. Switched to running a flicker shad just above the weed line and it seemed everything was hitting. Caught a few largemouth and northern, nothing huge but made for an active and fun morning.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationWind was 20MPH+ and the usual main lake humps were tough to fish. Transitioned to deeper weed edges (15+ FOW) that were more protected and was able to find some fish. Very slow bite on the jig but started getting bit when I switched to a texas rigged worm. The Zoom Ol monster 10.5" was good and so was the X Zone Blitz worm 11".

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructurePointsWe took 2nd place with 15.8 lb. All of our fish were caught on a drop shot fished on the outside weed edge in about 15ft. The fish were tight on specific spots but once you caught one you could work several fish off the same structure. The zoom trick worm in red magic seemed to be the ticket. Other fish were caught on a Sukoshi bug or a jig crawled slowly across the bottom. Natural colors seemed to work well. Slow was the key, I think most of the bites actually came when I was just dead sticking the bait, drinking coffee or just eating a snack. Once we realized that it was our thing just to be drinking coffee and setting hooks! Fun day!

TechniqueCarolina RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationWon a tournament out here throwing big Carolina rigs into thick weeds in 8-9 foot of water. Great Lake with some big bass wish I could have seen them pre-spawn because they certainly had room to grow. I used the yum pulse swimbait to mimic dying shad. There wasn’t an option for the yum pulse so I wrote it here.
