Bass were up super shallow and getting ready spawn. Every log I rolled up to was holding fish. Water clarity was 10-12ft. Choosing a natural color seemed to work well. Love the action of these beds with the bulbous tail. These Woo Tungsten bed heads let you feel every stone and twig on the bottom.

This was my first time fishing Ottawa. Blue bird skies 2 days after a massive cold front. The bite was tough. I saw cruisers in the shallows and was marking fish at the drop off but we could not get them turned on. This was the only fish caught that day. Slow rolled the swimbait on the Okashira head at a 45 degree angle to the bank over some large boulders at the drop off. "TICK" and she was there. This was my first Upper peninsula smallmouth and she did not dissapoint.
