I thought it would be fun to file some fishing reports of some local lakes up near my northern Minnesota cabin, which otherwise may not have someone post a report on. The first lake for 2024 didn’t turn out so well, I fished Pickle Lake which is a small natural lake around 30/40 acres. In years past I’ve always been able to catch Bass, however today was a different story. I tried everything - wacky/neko/bladed jig/Texas rig/swim jig/swim bait with an under spin. Sadly, I believe this lake has suffered a winter kill in recent years as there were no signs of life anywhere except a few very small blue gills. Hopefully the next lake I select I have better luck.
