Hands down best ice fishing destination in the state in terms of consistency, quality, and quantity. Everywhere else in the state the fishing will slow down as the season goes on besides Pineview. Best fishing starts 30 minutes before sunset and last all the way till sometimes 4 am in the morning. There is also a morning bite from 6 am till 8 am. Key is to find 30-45 feet of water. It is best to use apps like Navionics to see where the humps are because crappie move up and down these mud humps all night long. I highly recommend you have a spring bobber at the end of your rod because there are nights were it’s all up bites and it’s barely noticeable. Tip the ultra light rippin rap or spoons with one or two wax worms and make sure you are above the school of crappie. The trick is to keep moving your bait 3-4 feet above once you notice a crappie coming for it. Pause and usually the crappie will hit it immediately without hesitation. This technique works with spoons too and some nights they may want one or the other. Repeat this technique and I guarantee you will limit out in under an hour.
